Demise Of Mrs. Catherine Witt, A Pioneer

Mrs. Catherine Witt, 77, one of Muncie;s pioneer citizens, died at her home, 1815 Elliott street Thursday
afternoon about 5 o'clock. She had been in ill health for some time, but death was mainly due to a stroke
of paralysis sustained three weeks ago. She is survived by a son. Her husband, M. D, Witt, has been dead
for a number of years. Mrs. Witt was a devout Christian, and throughout her long and useful life took a deep
interest in all religious work. She was known for her charitable disposition and a willingness to aid those
in need. She was well known to all the older residents of Muncie and her demise will be a severe shock to
the community in which she lived. The arrangements for the funeral have not been made.
