Mrs. Sarah M Welling, 54, died Monday evening at her home, 800 South Madison street after an illness of several weeks. She leaves two sons and three daughters to grieve over their loss of the dear mother and a host of friends to mourn her departure. She left her former home in West Virginia on July 11, 1898, and moved to Muncie where she resided until her death. She was a widow for 11 years and mother of several children, five of whom proceeded her to the spirit land. She became a member of the Baptist Church when quite young. She was a kind mother and a dear friend to all who knew her. Her suffering was long and severe yet she bore without a murmur, placing her trust in God. She realized her condition, but made no request, being speechless for several days before her death.
