J. L. Thornburg, who went to Texas last week in response to a telegram announcing the death of his father, arrived in the city last evening with the courts. The funeral occurred this afternoon at Windsor. Interment in Union Cemetery.

Obituary John T. Thornburg was born Jan. 25, 1831, died Feb. 3, 1892, aged 61 years and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Lucinda Hewitt, Dec. 6, 1849. To this union were born nine children, six boys and three girls, seven of whom have preceded him to the promised land. During the Civil War, he served this country for three years, and the 36th Regiment, Indiana Volunteers, Company B. He united himself with the M. E. Church in 1853. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss, yes since God in his all wise providence has seen fit to take from us a loved one, we will trust his mercy to endure forever.
