Tragedy near Muncie
Indianapolis Sentinel
Muncie, Ind., July 17. Delaware Township was, last night, the scene of a terrible tragedy. Frederick Stoner, aged some seventy years, committed suicide by hanging. He was a well-off farmer, and a leading citizen in this community. He lived two and a half miles from Albany, a village of this County, distant from this city some dozen miles. He leaves a widow and four or five grown-up children. A neighbor had brought a $5,000 libel suit against him for saying harsh things of his family. This is the supposed cause of his untimely taking off.
