Funeral of Mrs Katie Henderson

The funeral of Mrs Katie Henderson, of Indianapolis, took place at Wheeling on Monday about noon. She died at Indianapolis on Sunday night about half past nine o'clock. Her seventy-sixth birthday occurred on Friday before her death. She was the daughter of Robert Saunders, who died March 31, 1861, aged ninety-four years and whose tombstone in the Wheeling cemetery bears the following inscription: "This patriot and pioneer served three years in the arduous Indian Campaign of Wayne and among the first settlers of Indiana." Two sons Abner and Coleman Saunders, and two daughters, Mrs McVickers and Mrs Reasoner, survive the sister that just passed away. Mrs Henderson has three married daughters, to living in the state and one in Missouri. Mrs M L Barnhizer lives at No 19 Morrison Street Indianapolis, with whom her mother was living at the time she died. Mrs John Curtis lives on a farm near New Cumberland, Ind. The Rev E F Hasty attended the funeral and conducted a brief religious ceremony.
