Last Tuseday Mr. Jacob Richmond received a letter conveying the sad news that his son Mike was dead. He died near Dallas, Texas. He (Jacob) with W. A. Shoemaker to accompany him started to the above named point in Thursday. He had some thought of bringing his sin back home for burial, but will probably not do so. Missing their connection in Indianapolis, the arrived at St. Louis too late for the south train, and were obligated to remain in that city thoughout one day. Mr. Shoemaker employed the time in visiting points of interest in and near the city. He is highly pleased with what he has thus far seen.
