Scarcely had the mourners returned when the news came that that wife of Mr. Wm. Reese, Sr., was dead. But yesterday she was laid to rest. Today, her daughter-in-law, the wife of Wm. Reese, Jr., lays cold in death. The heartfelt sympathy of the neighbors is extended to these grief stricken families. All that medical skill could do to save the lives of these people was done but to no avail. The ladies in this neighborhood have acted nobly, to these afflicted families sacrificing themselves, to minister to the wants of the suffering, cooling the parched lips, and sooth- ing the aching brows of the sufferers. Speaking qords of consolation to husbands, brothers, sisters and relatives of the deceased, cheering them with hope of life well spent. The case of Wm. Reese, Jr., is a sad one. But yesterday he witnessed the last sad rights over his mother, today his wife, the partner of his joys and sorrow is taken from him. The smiling babe who is unconscious of its mother's death, is left to give him hope. She was well and favorably known in Muncie, having several brothers and sisters here. In the prime of life, when all seemed bright, when hope was the strongest, when her prat- tling babe charmed her by its innocence, she was stricken down, and has gone to her reward. Truly the Samaritan had his followers in this vicinity, who have exemplified his doings. All honor to them. Yours truly, W. H. when the news came that that wife of Mr. Wm. Reese, Sr., was dead.
