Mr. Postal Travelling in the West and Cannot Be Located--Mrs. Postal at Muncie Traveling in the west in his line of work for an insurance company J. S. Postal of this city, whose father died Monday at his home in Muncie, cannot be located by his family and is not aware that his father is dead, in fact did not know that his father was even seriously ill. The news of the death of Mr. Postal's father, Israel Postal, came in a message Monday to Mrs. J. S. Postal, and she immediately sent telegrams to her husband. He left Topeka, Kansas, a week ago to travel to points in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, and therefore his exact whereabouts is hard to determine, and Mrs. Postal had to send messages to several points, hoping to intercept him. The last word heard from him he was at Muskogee, Oklahoma. Israel Postal, 74, a highly respected and well known resident of Muncie died Monday at 9:20 P. M. at his home, 322 East Howard street, after a long illness following the death of his wife but a few weeks ago. He is survived by three sons, John Postal, of Bluffton; Lewis Postal and William Postal, of Muncie, and one daughter, Mary Postal, also of Muncie. the deceased was born in Franklin county, Ohio, January 12, 1834, but has been a resident of Muncie for many years. Mr. Postal will be laid to rest beside his wife's body on Beech Grove cemetery in Muncie. A letter came Tuesday from J. S. Postal to his wife mailed at Topeka, Kansas. No further word has been recieved here, although he may have wired to Muncie if he received any of the telegrams sent to him. |
