Obituary
By a special dispensation of providence death has again entered our midst and taken from us our beloved brotherand friend in the person
of Samuel Parks, who departed this life Thursday, Nov. 21, aged 51 years. Sam was a member of the M. E. Church and an ernest Christian
man. He was a devoted Sabbath school worker and one f the most faithfull members. He was also a member of the Masonic order. He is gone,
no more will the kind soothing voice be heard in loving sympathy for the ills of his friends; sadly will he be missed from the home, from
the church and from society. His life is an example of character worthy of emulation. He had a hig regard and esteem for all purity and
an utter abhorrence of all wrong. His aspirations in life were to attain a higher degree purity and to influence others to live an up-
right life. He was ever kind and loving of disposition and manifesting toward a deep interest in the destiny of others; was universally
loved by all, yet while we so sadly miss our departed brother we consider our loss his gain. J. S. J.
