As described by him as follows: "I was switching two box cars and had cut one loose when my foot got caught in the frog and before I could get loose the train backed on me and you see what happened. The man was very week and words came with much effort. The examination showed that his left leg below the knee was badly torn and ascerated and the foot was broken. The thigh and hip was also cut in a very serious manner. The right leg was also badly torn but no bones were broken. The injured man lives on Shoemaker street and is married, two children being in the household. He is 34 years of age and is considered a good rail man. The physicians, Drs. Kemper and Cowing stated that it is impossible for him to recover. The ambulance of Meeks Bro's conveyed the body to the home, where he now lies at death's door.
