Corp. Nottingham Killed In France
Son Of Former Muncie Woman Hoped To Help Decorate Next Year.

Corporal Marsh Notingham, headquarters company, 75th Field Artillery, was killed in action July 15, in France, according to news reaching
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Nottingham, Indianapolis: The mother was formerly Miss Gertrude McRea of Muncie. The young man was
but 21 years old and enlisted in 1917 In the regular army. To Harold Haven Brown, art director of the Herron Art Institute, in Indianapolis,
on Decoration Day Corp. Nottingham wrote: "Today is Decoration day in the states. For here-well, it is just like any other Decoration day.
How much more different may next Decoration day be? I hope I will still be able to do the decorating and not receive the decoration. Flow-
ers are beautiful, lovely things, but I prefer to be able to appreciate their lovliness than have it bestowed upon me."
