Died: At the residence of his son-in-law, J. K. Shideler, in Royerton, January 29, 1879, Mr. Joseph Moore, in the 66th year of his age. Uncle Joseph, as he was familiarly known, was born January 13, 1813, in the Shennandoah [sic] Valley, Virginia, and was married to Mary L. Davis in Hamilton, Ohio, Aug. 1 1837. They moved to Indiana in 1851, settling in Hamilton township, where they remained 18 years, then moved to Muncie, where his family now reside. Mr. Moore was sick for about one year, his disease being typhoid pneumonia, when the Death Angel relieved him of his sufferings. He bore his sickness with human patience and died in the faith of a better world. He was a member of the Chirstian Church, and his funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Jos. Ball, of this city. His remains were interred in the Dunkard grave yard, ten miles north of Muncie, being attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss.
