Zola Mock |
---|
aged 1 year, 5 months, and four days.Little Zola was ill but a few days. Cholera Infantum is given as the cause of her death. She was a sweet and patient little sufferer. While her stay on earth was very brief, she was loved by all who knew her. This little flower being plucked in the very springtime of life, as it were, has left a vacancy in the home that can never be filled and the bereaved parents have the heartfelt sympathy of all. But--how sweet the thought that she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Has he not said "Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdon of Heaven?" She was the daughter os Elisha E and Lily May Mock, and leaves to mourn their loss, a father, mother, two sisters and three brothers, and a host of relatives and friends. Death with its cruel message Has entered our peaceful home Has broken the family circle Has called out (sic our?) Baby home. Gone, but not forgotten Never will out (sic our?) memory fade Sweetest thoughts will ever linger Around where Baby is laid. Note: This typewritten obituary for little Zola was tucked in her parents' family Bible. It isn't clear who wrote the obituary. In the bible records mother Lillie's name is spelled with 'ie', but in the obituary, it is with a 'y' leading me to believe that she was not the author. |
