Mrs Morinda Kegerries, after a lingering illness of eight months, departed this life on Saturday morning March 29, 1879. Of course her departure was expected some time before her death. Her daughter, Cordelia J, was summoned from Indianapolis, when the mother recognized at once, and then sank peacefully away. Several days before her death she expressed a willingness to die, stating that she was ready. We have seldom looked upon the face of a dead woman, that a more peaceful and pleasant expression. Rev Stanton officiated at the funeral. Mrs Kegerries was born November 1, 1840, and was therefore 38 years, 4 months, and 28 days old. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss, but she has gone, we trust, to a world where there is more charity than here, and where sin does not enter. |
