A Sad Death
Miss Carrie Hutchings Passes Away
Miss Carrie Hutchings is dead. For some months she has been suffering from lung trouble so that she had to resign her position in the city schools. Miss Carrie remained about the same until Saturday morning last, when she commenced to sink and Sunday noon the vital spark fled to the beautiful beyond. Miss Carrie was a pleasant, warm-hearted young lady, loved by her companions and scholars. She was the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Hutchings. Nineteen years ago, while they lived in Indianapolis, one pleasant evening a little babe was left on their door steps. While the parentage of the stranger was never known, she always had a welcome home. She has gone to her long home, but her Christian ways will make her memory ever dear. The remains will be taken to the Presbyterian Church at 12:30 o'clock today and remain un charge of the ushers until 2 o'clock, the hour of the funeral for her friends to view the remains. The city schools will be dismissed this afternoon in her respect.
