Flora Gates |

Miss Flora Gates, the young lady was so badly burned about four weeks since, an account of which appeared in the News, died about noon yesterday. The burns upon Miss Gates' person were healing very rapidly and there were hopes of her recovery, but peritonitis or inflamatin of the bowels set in Saturday, and she was compelled to succumb to the inevitable sway of death, after having endured the most agonizing pain ever suffered by humanity. The funeral took place at twelve o'clock to-day from the residence of her father, Mr. Gates, residing about three and one half miles south east of this city. Her remains were placed in Beech Grove cemetery. |
