A Workman Meets With Death While Trimming a Lamp
A special from Hartford City says: William J Ford last night was substituted for a sick man in the workshop of the Hartford
City Light and Power Company, and was learning to trim an arc light. While still holding the frame of the connected lamp he
stepped off a board to the ground, and the entire current passssed through his body. Ford stood upright and lifeless after the
shock, nor did the body sink until after Manager Forbes, who was standing near, hurled a box which knocked the lamp
from the grasp of his stiffened fingers. Ford was a man of family. He formerly served as street commissioner.
