Died, at his father's residence one-half mile north of Selma, March 11th, 1879, John O. Dye, in his 25th year, after a lingering
illness of the most dreaded of all diseases, consumption. He expressed himself not only willing but ready to die. He called his
friends to his bedside and bade them all farewell, and requested them to meet him in heaven. He leaves a father and mother
and two sisters, besides many friends to mourn his loss. His funeral was preached by Rev. Wm. Pierce of Selma. S. N. J.
