Late yesterday afternoon, Parker Culbertson, son of Mr. Culbertson, of this city, was cutting down a tree near
Granville, and was instantly killed. The tree, after bein cut, fell and lodged in another tree, and as the young
man was attempting to dislodge it, it suddenly came loose and fell on his, striking him on the head and shoulders,
breaking the skull and collar bone, killing him outright. The young man was twenty years of age and is well known
in Muncie. His parents live in the east part of the city. His father started last evening into the country to sell
medicines, which business he has engaged in for some time, and his mother, who is nearly wild with grief, has sent
messengers to hunt him up. It is a sad, sudden blow, and the grief-stricken parents have the sympathy of the community.
