Mrs Mary Ann Crampton Wife of Charles C Crampton, was born in Delaware County, Hamilton Township, Sept 23, 1840, and died near the place of her birth April 17, 1881, aged 40 years, 6 months and 24 days. She joined the Christian Church in her youth, and when in after years that Church was disorganized in her neighborhood she joined the M E Church in 1865 and lived a most beautiful and consistent every-day Christian life until her death. Her sickness was very brief, but when death came it found her ready. She had lives the life of the righteous, and such die their death. Sister Crampton was loved by all who knew her. Indeed, her life was such that to know her best was to love her most. She was married to her now bereaved husband March 15, 1866, who with five motherless children and a large circle of friends greatly miss and mourn her loss. After appropriate religious service at the home she was buried at the Wheeling Cemetery, April 18, 1881. The writer, having received her into the M E Church, married her to her now bereaved husband, and conducted the service. --T Sells. |
