Death of A. J. Claypool, of Muncie Other Notables Gone Special to the Indianapolis News Muncie, November 2.-Hon. Abraham J. Claypool, one of the best known men in eastern Indiana, had an attack of neuralgia, to which he was subject, last Friday afternoon. The same evening he was stricken with apoplexy, and his unconscious condition continued until yesterday, when he died.Mr. Claypool was born in Connersville August 20, 1829. Early in life he was engaged in the dry goods business, but afterwards he was connected with the old State Bank and with the First National Bank of Connersville, and; twenty years ago he removed to Muncie and established a private bank. He gave gave up active pursuits several years ago. He leaves a widow but no children. He was a brother of Hon. A. B. ClaypooL of Connersville, and Ed. F. Claypool, of Indianapolis. |
