Cecil=John S. Cecil died Saturday evening at six o'clock at the age of 79 years.
The deceased was one of the oldest and best known residents of the county having
resided the most of his life here. He leaves a family of wife, three sons and two
daughters. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at ten o'clock from
the Smithfield M. E. church. Interment at Tabor cemetery.

John S. Cecil died at his home a half mile west of Smithfield Saturday evening June 1,
1895 at the ripe old age of 79. The subject of this sketch was born in Shelby county,
Ohio in 1816. He emigrated to this county in 1831 and settled on a farm nr=ear New
Burlington where he lived until his marriage to Rachel Legg in 1842 when he moved
to the farm where he died. He was a prosporous farmer, a kind neighbor and a faithful
christian, being a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for sixty years, forty of
which he was a class leader. He died of no disease save the feebleness of old age. Funeral
services at the Smithfield M. E> church Tuesday at 10 a.m. conducted by B. S. Hollopeter.
Interment at Mt. Tabor cemetery.
