Muncie, Ind.,- At 8 o'clock this morning, Drs. Leech, Little, and Kemper commenced a post mortem examination of th body of Miss Fannie F. Burgess, who died from the effects of an abortion last evening. The examination was made under the direction of Coroner W. J. Borden and Prosecutor J. E. Mellet, and continued to 11 o'clock. The uterus, stomach, heart etc., were removed, and dissected thoroughly. The uterus was greatly inflamed, displaying acts of violence as usually made in surgical operations like abortion, There were no particular developments, only verification of the prediction heretofore made. . The pelvis organs, were greatly expanded and in a terrible condition. The physician are not talkative on the subject, but your correspondent learned reliably that it is their opinion that the deceased came to her death from injuries received in producing abortion, and will report accordingly. Last evening, before dying, Mis Barges stated that the foetus removed by the abortionist at Cincinnati was about four inches long, and that Dr. A. E. West, ot that city, removed it. There are many details connected with the crime which are improper for publication, showing that the affair and betrayal are more horrible and sad than heretofore predicted. Coroner W. J. Borden this evening commenced taking evidence in the inquest and will be employed about a week. The preliminary trial is set for Saturday, and will either be postponed a week later to enable th prosecution to get evidence, or the defense will waive hearing. The final trial win probably be taken to Cincinnati, where the crime was committed. The corpse will be taken to Frankfort tomorrow morning for interment. The excitement is unabated.
