Another christian mother called to her reward. Died, at the residence of her son-in-law, Clark Reed, of Randolph Co., Ind., February 25, 1879, in her 86th year. After more than two years of intense mental and bodily suffering, Mary P. Brotherton, widow of the late John Brotherton of this county who was summoned to the heavenly rest more than fourteen years ago. After this lapse of time there is a reunion of those devoted saints in that clime where sickness and sorrow never enters. Father and mother Brotherton were faithful members of the M. E. Church to the close of life. They raised eight obedient and respectable children, four sons and four daughters all of whom survive them, except the second daughter, who died in the triumph of a living faith, more than fifteen years ago.
