Death Claims Oliver Barnes
Young Man Accidentally Shot by His Brother Passed Away Today
The End Came Very Suddenly
His Death Was Not Unexpected During the Night and Members of the Family Had Left the Hospital

Oliver Barnes, the young iron worker accidentally shot by his brother, Alfred, while hunting Tuesday, died at the hospital this morning at 2 o'clock. The end came at the time it was least expected as tge patient seemed to be resting easy and hopes for his recovery were being entertained. None of his family were present at the time as all had gone home early in the evening when they were assured that he would probably live until morning at the least. The young man never lost consciousness from the time of the accident until about a half hour before his death whennhe began to weaken. He passed away before his wife or brothers could reach his bedside. Alfred Barnes, who carried the fatal gun, is almost crazed with grief and before his brother's death spent most of his time at the hospital. The attending physicians state that death was almost painless. A bride of two months, father, mother, two sisters, and five brothers survive. Barnes was only 21 years old. All the funeral arrangements have not been made. Burial will be in Beech Grove.
