HOOVER CEMETERY

Deed from Eli Hoover to The Public

...to the Public use as a Cemetery or Grave Yard...A part of the South East quarter of the North East quarter of Section nine (9) in Township nineteen (19) North of Range eleven (11) East; beginning 672 feet West and 40 feet South of the North East corner of said South East quarter of the North East quarter; running thence South seven (7) rods; thence West 90 feet; thence North seven (7) rods; thence East 90 feet to the place of beginning containing one fourth of an acre more or less.

The deed also provided a right of way for "the privilege of passing with wagons, carriages or other vehicles from the road twenty two (22) rods North of said Grave Yard, thence directly South to said Yard, not using a space in width for such pass way of more that one rod in width, and said pass way to be entered by a gate at said road, and not be fenced or separated from the premises adjoining the same on either side." It appears there was a perimeter fence around the surrounding property that contained the gate directly north of the cemetery that Eli mentioned, but he did not want easement separated from the rest of his land with a fence.
